Every Wednesday night from 5:30 - 7:30pm Metis Night takes place in the Chief Simon Baker Room. Individuals, families and community come together and everyone contributes to a potluck meal and participate in singing and dancing in the Metis tradition. VAFCS is happy to provide space for our Metis community to practice their culture and gather to honor Metis history and tradition.
POW WOW FAMILY NIGHT
Every Tuesday night from 7pm to 10pm, Pow Family night takes place in the Judge Alfred Scow Gym. Individuals, families and community come together to witness and participate in the singing and drumming of the Pow Wow tradition. The VAFCS appreciates hearing the songs and the spirit of the drums which communicates their ancestral values, cultural integrity, solidarity and personal relationships for future generations.
WEST COAST NIGHT
Every Wednesday night from 7pm to 10pm, West Coast night takes place in the Judge Alfred Scow gym. The people of the West Coast share their Songs and Dances; using masks, button blankets, rattles and drums of various sizes to share their identity of who they are and where they come from sharing their ancestral stories through songs and dancing.
