VAFCS Job Opportunities

Note that this is a BCGEU bargaining unit position.

VAFCS is seeking to fill one Summer Daycamp Supervisor position @ $14/hr to start July 1, and three Summer Daycamp Leaders @ $12/hr to start July 1st 2010.  Note that there is a 1st Aid training course on June 22

Abilities and Qualifications:

  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Criminal Record Check will be required.
  • Valid First Aid Certificate and BC Drivers License 4 considered an asset.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal youth. 
  • Ability to plan, lead and report on various recreational activities for youth; experience an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Must be organized, detail oriented with an ability to work in a fast paced environment.

This is a full-time temporary position with the possibility of extension for an individual seeking experience working with urban Aboriginal youth in Recreation.
