Elders' Food and Wellness Program

 For ages 55+

The VAFCS Elders Food Program is dedicated to providing Indigenous Residential School Survivors, Elders, and Knowledge Keepers with essential services and resources to promote their well-being and cultural vitality. Our program offers individual and group cultural sessions, workshops, and services to address health issues, alongside a daily on-site meal program that provides Elders with the food security they need to thrive.

Our Elders Food Program also offers a range of other essential services, access to health and wellness programs, and support services for issues related to housing, income, and legal matters. Our goal is to ensure that Indigenous Elders and Knowledge Keepers have access to the resources and support they need to maintain their well-being and cultural vitality.

Elder's Bingo Program

Ages 55+

VAFCS' Elder Bingo program is a beloved weekly gathering for Indigenous Elders. Every Wednesday from 9-11 AM in the CSB Room, Elders aged 65 and up come together to enjoy a classic game of bingo and socialize with each other. The program offers a welcoming and comfortable environment where Elders can share their stories, make new friends, and enjoy a good time.

In addition to being a fun social activity, Elder Bingo has proven to be beneficial for the mental and emotional well-being of participants. The program provides Elders with a sense of community and connection, which is especially important for those who may be living alone or experiencing isolation.
