Vancouver Aboriginal Violence Prevention Program (VAVPP)

VAVPP is dedicated to developing and implementing effective strategies to address the systemic inequities facing Indigenous peoples related to violence. Our program is designed to support Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit individuals who are at risk of or have experienced violence.

One of the key components of the VAVPP program is the development of supporting documents that outline methods of inclusion and provide recommendations to address gaps in culturally based services. These documents serve as guides to help service providers better understand the unique needs of Indigenous people and develop effective strategies to address issues related to violence.

Our program is committed to providing culturally sensitive services that are tailored to the specific needs of each individual. We work closely with Indigenous communities to develop programs and services that are grounded in traditional knowledge and practices. Our goal is to promote healing and wellness among Indigenous people and to create a safe and supportive environment where survivors of violence can access the resources and support they need to heal and move forward.
